Set them free

They chose to leave me,

leaving a hole in my heart.

I could have left it open, empty and dry.

But I chose to fill it with good memories, sound of laughter,

And the sweet aroma emanated from tight hugs we shared.

I chose to continue pursuing life and dreams. I chose forgiveness.

I chose happiness.

They chose to leave me.

But the time we shared together

Are here to stay.

Those moments are the fuel that moves my soul into a place

where regret has no space.

I chose love.

I chose to set them free.
